Kyle Darmstead

Clinical Intern

As a former student-athlete, coach, and mental performance consultant, I bring nearly two decades of experience in sports. I competed in collegiate baseball at Christopher Newport University and was a multi-sport athlete in high school, earning varsity letters in baseball, basketball, and golf. These experiences shaped my understanding of the mental and emotional demands athletes face. I believe resilience and confidence are skills that can be intentionally developed on and off the field. My work focuses on helping individuals build these strengths to enhance performance, manage pressure, and thrive in daily life. I use a person-centered approach and integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). One of my favorite quotes is, “That which you most need will be found where you least want to look.” — Carl Jung. Therapy invites us to explore discomfort and unfamiliarity, because that is where meaningful growth occurs.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure of how to move forward, you don’t have to figure it out alone. My name is Meaghan Sullivan, and I am an Advanced Standing Master of Social Work student at George Mason University. My interest in therapy is similar to why I drive in the right lane on the highway: I want to create space for others. By using a person-centered and strengths-based approach, my hope is that you will feel truly seen, heard, and valued in our working relationship. I am committed to cultivating a warm, safe, and accepting space where together we can explore your goals, uncover your strengths, and build momentum toward the changes you want in life. I’m particularly drawn to working with teens, young adults, or anyone navigating life transitions or stress. Embarking on a journey of change is a courageous step. If you're ready to explore your path forward, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Ashley Venegas

Clinical Intern

I am a dedicated mental health professional with experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through life’s challenges. As a mother of four, I deeply understand the importance of a child’s emotional development and how unmet emotional needs can show up as challenging behaviors. This perspective allows me to work with individuals navigating difficult life transitions, anxiety, depression, and difficulties with emotional regulation. My approach focuses on helping clients build resilience, increase self-confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves, empowering them to move toward meaningful and lasting change. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on recognizing strengths and fostering growth. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based practices, and play therapy to meet each client’s unique needs.
